Call for Abstracts

The NANS 2026 Call for Abstracts is now closed. Thank you to everyone who submitted their research for the premier neuromodulation meeting to learn, engage, and connect with thought-leaders and innovators in the field.
Submission Deadline: Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 1 PM Central Time (Closed)
Abstract submissions including Scientific, Abstract, or Case Report/Small Series will need to select a topic and subtopic.
Abstract categories
Scientific
This category may be considered for all presentation formats: Oral Presentation, Paper Poster Presentation, or E-Poster.
Case Reports/Small Series
This category will only be considered for a Paper Poster Presentation or an E-Poster.
Late-Breaking Abstracts
- Only clinical trials will be considered for the Late-Breaking Abstract Category.
- Abstract submission must be a prospective randomized controlled trial study.
- The study must be ongoing at the time of initial submission.
- Expect to have finalized data by Thursday, October 23, 2025.

Session formats
Submitters may indicate their preferred presentation format, but the assigned format is at the discretion of the Scientific Program Committee and Abstract Chairs.
Oral presentation
The highest rated abstracts are selected for an Oral Presentation in a Concurrent Session. The highest ranked late-breaking abstracts are selected for an Oral Presentation. Oral presentations are awarded 0.5 CME credits.
Paper poster
Highly ranked accepted abstracts for Major Poster Presentation will present their work on an individually assigned poster board. The Presenting Author is responsible for entering the poster and bringing it with them to the meeting.
E-poster
All accepted abstracts will also receive an acceptance to an electronic Poster. All accepted abstracts are uploaded to a digital system. E-Posters are available during the entirety of the NANS 2026 Annual Meeting in the meeting app. Posters are non-CME.
Submission guidelines
Duplicate abstracts
If the same abstract is submitted more than once for NANS 2026, those all accounts of the abstract will be subject to automatic rejection. Also, duplicate submissions under separate categories will be subject to automatic rejection as well.
Original research
Abstracts must be based on original research not previously submitted or published as or at another meeting or publication. Submissions to NANS 2026 must include updated content if similar data has been shared elsewhere.
Review process
Abstracts submitted for NANS 2026 Annual Meeting will go through a blind review process by an independent scientific review committee and scored on scientific merit, originality, and relevance to the field of neuromodulation.
Meeting registration & travel
No Presenting Author of an Oral Presentation, Paper Poster Presentation, or an E-poster must register to attend the NANS 2026 Annual Meeting. Presenting Authors for all accepted abstracts are responsible for all expenses associated with attending.
Accepted abstract policies
Withdrawal of Accepted Abstracts
Requests to withdraw an abstract must be submitted in writing by the Presenting Author to Kim Stamp, NANS Education Coordinator at kstamp@neuromodulation.org by the abstract withdrawal deadline. Please include the title of the abstract along with the submission ID in your notification. The deadline to withdraw an abstract is Monday, January 5, 2026.
If the Presenting Author does not confirm their participation at NANS 2026 by the specified deadline for presenter confirmation, it will be assumed that they have withdrawn their abstract and it will be removed from the program.
Changing the Presenting Author of an Accepted Abstract
If not able to assume the responsibilities of Presenting Author, please contact Kim Stamp, NANS Education Coordinator at kstamp@neuromodulation.org to change the presenting author. After the change, all correspondence will then be sent to the new Presenting Author.
If you are changing the author of an accepted Oral Abstract or Late-Breaking Abstract, you must make sure that the Presenting Author is not an owner or employee of an ineligible company.
The deadline to change the presenting author is Monday, January 5, 2026. No changes to the Presenting Author will be accepted after the deadline.
Embargo Policy
All abstracts are embargoed until the start of the NANS 2026 Annual Meeting (January 22, 2026). Any media questions related to embargoes should be directed to NANS’ Associate Director of Marketing, Jessie Schlacks, at jschlacks@neuromodulation.org.
CME guidelines for abstracts and education sessions
In accordance with the ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education, Presenting Authors in Oral Abstracts, grantees under faculty cannot be owners or employees of Ineligible Companies in continuing medical education activities.
