INS and NANS: A Global Network

In 1995, NANS became the first chapter of the International Neuromodulation Society (INS) and remains its largest. ​INS is a global nonprofit encompassing 24 chapters and, similar to NANS, its membership includes clinicians, scientists and engineers dedicated to the scientific development and awareness of neuromodulation. 

Neuromodulation: Technology at the Neural Interface is the official journal of INS and NANS members receives a subscription to the journal as a membership benefit. NANS members also receive a discount to attend the biennial INS World Congress.

NANS members can also get engaged with INS in these ways:

  • Participate in formal mentorship programs organized by our Young Neuromodulators  and International Women in Neuromodulation (iWIN) Committees
  • Nominate and elect INS directors-at-large
  • Volunteer for outreach projects to advance awareness of neuromodulation and patient care
  • Publish their contact information in an online public directory (Members can opt in by editing their profile settings on the INS members’ site)
  • Receive registration discounts to the biennial INS world congresses and chapter meetings.
  • Receive a member discount for publishing Open Access articles in Neuromodulation

With its member volunteers, the INS proactively interacts with external information partners, news organizations and social media to expand awareness and understanding of neuromodulation therapies to improve patient access and care.
