The North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS), alongside more than 70 leading medical organizations, has signed a joint letter urging the Senate to include a key Medicare payment provision from the House-passed One Big Beautiful Bill Act (H.R. 1) in its upcoming legislative package.

The provision would tie Medicare physician payments to the Medicare Economic Index—an essential first step toward long-term reform of the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS). Without it, continued cuts threaten the sustainability of independent practices and patient access, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

NANS and its partners are calling on Congress to take meaningful action to stabilize the system, reduce harmful consolidation, and protect the care millions of patients rely on.
