The North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS) has accepted 478 abstract submissions, including 312 scientific abstracts, for its 2026 Annual Meeting, taking place January 22–25, 2026, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas—the highest number in recent years. NANS also accepted 160 case reports/small series and 6 late-breaking abstracts, surpassing 2025 totals and underscoring continued growth in the field. 

This milestone reflects the meeting’s theme, “From Discovery to Healing,” and highlights how rapidly neuromodulation is evolving across both established and emerging therapeutic areas.
 
“Research in neuromodulation is flourishing,” said Christy Hunt, DO, NANS Board Member and Abstract Review Co-Chair. “We’re seeing growth beyond pain applications, greater investigator diversity, and broader adoption of the therapy across disciplines — and this year’s submissions clearly reflect that momentum.” 
 
Emerging Scientific Trends

  • AI-Driven and Adaptive Neurostimulation 
    A significant portion of this year’s submissions focuses on artificial intelligence–enhanced systems and adaptive or closed-loop neurostimulation that adjusts therapy in real time based on patient-derived signals—marking a shift toward more precise, personalized treatment. 
  • Expanding Clinical Applications Beyond Pain 
    The submissions this year reflect rapid growth in epilepsy, movement disorders, stroke recovery, and bowel and bladder dysfunction original research. Increased representation in epilepsy underscores accelerating clinical adoption and the introduction of new therapeutic options. 
  • Growing Clinical Trial Activity in Spinal Cord Stimulation 
    The rising number of SCS-related clinical trial studies highlights ongoing advances in mechanisms, long-term durability, and patient selection—supporting both scientific understanding and real-world practice optimization. 
  • Increasing Diversity in Investigators and Approaches 
    This year’s submissions come from a broader mix of research teams, career stages, and disciplines, signaling a field that is expanding in reach while deepening in scientific rigor. 

Accepted abstracts will be presented as oral presentations during plenary sessions, paper posters, and digital ePosters, giving NANS 2026 Annual Meeting attendees direct access to the latest findings and future directions in the field.
