Physician Category
This category is for physicians with advanced degrees in medicine relevant to neuromodulation, including MD, DO, and MBBS.
This registration category is CME eligible.
Non-Physician Category
This category is for individuals that are not physicians (MD, DO, MBBS).
For example: Advanced Practice Providers, Allied Health (i.e., anesthesiologist or physician assistants), Engineers or Scientists/Researchers at an academic institution, Office Practice Administrators/Managers, or Clinical Staff responsible for practice management activities.
This registration category is not CME eligible but may receive a Certificate of Attendance. The certificate may be used to self-certify depending on your accrediting agency.
Industry Category
This category is for individuals employed by companies that manufacture and sell devices, pharmaceuticals, and other products and who are directly involved in clinical and technical activities, education, research, engineering, and/or corporate leadership.
This registration category is not CME eligible.
Trainees (Fellows, Residents, Postdocs) Category
This category is for Fellows, Residents, and Postdocs enrolled in training programs that award doctoral degrees or provide postdoctoral training. You must upload your proof of status (in PDF format) when you register to receive the discounted registration fee.
One of the following must be submitted as proof of status:
- An ID that has an expiration date showing you’re employed as a resident, in a postdoctoral position, or have a fellowship. If your ID does not have an expiration date on it, you may upload a copy of your letter of acceptance.
OR - A dated letter from your institution on letterhead, signed by an advisor or department head showing that you are currently employed as a resident, in a postdoctoral position, or have a fellowship.
This registration category is not CME eligible.
Student Category
This category is for individuals currently enrolled in their undergraduate degree or in medical school. You must upload your proof of status (in PDF format) when you register to receive the discounted registration fee.
One of the following must be submitted as proof of status:
- Student ID that has an expiration date. If your Student ID does not have an expiration date on it, you may upload a copy of your transcript or letter of acceptance from your educational institution.
OR - A dated letter from your university on letterhead, signed by an advisor or department head showing that you are currently enrolled as a student.
Note: There is no one-day rate on this discounted Student category so if you wish to register for one day you can register under the Trainee category.
This registration category is not CME eligible.
Military Category
This category is for individuals currently serving in the military. You must upload your proof of status (in PDF format) when you register to receive the discounted registration fee.
The following must be submitted:
- Military ID showing you are currently serving in the military.
This registration category is only CME Eligible if you are a Physician, otherwise a Certificate of Attendance is available.
Note: There is no one-day rate on this discounted Military category so if you wish to register for one day you can register under the Non-Physician or Physician category.
Guest/Spouse Category
This category is for a guest or spouse to join you at the meeting. They will get access to the receptions held during the meeting:
- Thursday, January 21 (7:00pm-8:30pm) – NANS Opening Reception
- Friday, January 22 (5:30pm-7:00pm) – Abstract Paper Poster Session & Reception
- Friday, January 22 (7:00pm-9:00pm) – NANS Celebration Reception
They are NOT permitted to attend any of the educational sessions or pre-conference courses and are NOT eligible for CME credit.

Course Details
Invention, Investment, and Invigoration (i3): Serving the Patient
This full-day pre-conference course will provide a comprehensive overview of the evolving neuromodulation ecosystem, organized around the central theme of serving the patient. Bringing together leaders from academia, industry, and investment, the program will explore the field from technological innovation through commercialization and clinical adoption. Sessions will examine the future of neuromodulation, the funding outlook for emerging startups, and advances in key areas including brain-computer interfaces, neuromodulation for internal organs, and emerging modalities such as ultrasound-based stimulation. Additional discussion will address the critical role of reimbursement and evidence generation in ensuring patient access to new therapies. The course will conclude with a panel featuring senior leaders from major neuromodulation companies sharing perspectives on industry trends and future opportunities. Designed to encourage cross-sector dialogue, the program aims to highlight how scientific, clinical, and business decisions ultimately converge around a common goal: improving outcomes and access for patients.
Advanced Engineering Principles in Neuromodulation: Next-Generation SCS and DBS Technologies
This course provides a deep dive into the advanced engineering behind next-generation spinal cord stimulation (SCS) and deep brain stimulation (DBS) technologies. The morning session spotlights academic leaders sharing foundational concepts critical to innovation in neuromodulation, covering topics such as implantable pulse generator design, electrode technology, novel stimulation paradigms, neural sensing, clinical testing strategies, and the integration of artificial intelligence. Neuromodulation Across the Continuum: An APP Course in Pain & Neurosurgical Care
Developed in collaboration with the North American Neuromodulation Society, this full-day immersive course is designed for Advanced Practice Providers in pain management and neurosurgery seeking practical, up-to-date training in neuromodulation. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of contemporary neuromodulation therapies. Through lectures, case-based learning, and interactive discussion, APPs will strengthen skills in patient selection, preoperative optimization, basic programming, postoperative management, and device troubleshooting. Emphasis is placed on evidence-informed practice, real-world clinical decision-making, and navigating rapidly evolving neuromodulation technologies within multidisciplinary pain care.

Member Rates
To be eligible for the member rates, your membership must be valid on the day you register. If you want to become a member to take advantage of the discounted fees, you may do so when you register.
Retired
If you’re retired, you may register under the category that was applicable when you were employed.
INS
If you are a member of one of the chapters of the International Neuromodulation Society but not a member of NANS you may receive the Physician/Industry Member rate. Contact NANS Registration to receive the invite code to register as a member.
Policies
Registration Changes & Cancellations
- Name changes and substitutions are not permitted.
- Registration fees are refundable, minus a $150 processing fee, if submitted by December 21, 2026. After this date registration fees are non-refundable, and no refund or credit will be provided except as outlined under Exceptional Circumstances.
- Guest registration fees are refundable if submitted by December 21, 2026. After this date guest registration fees are non-refundable, and no refund or credit will be provided except as outlined under Exceptional Circumstances.
- Pre-conference course fees are refundable, minus a $50 processing fee, if submitted by December 21, 2026. After this date pre-conference course fees are non-refundable, and no refund or credit will be provided except as outlined under Exceptional Circumstances.
- Membership fees are nonrefundable.
- Contributions for the NANS 2027 Annual Meeting pin and donations to ION are non-refundable, and no refund or credit will be provided.
- No refund or credit will be provided for attendees who do not attend the meeting.
Registration Cancellations under Exceptional Circumstances:
NANS recognizes that serious, unforeseen events may prevent attendance. Requests for consideration under exceptional circumstances must be submitted in writing to NANS Registration at TBD and may require documentation. If a request is approved, NANS may provide a partial refund.
Situations that may qualify include:
- Death in the immediate family
- Serious personal illness or injury
- Government-imposed travel restrictions
- Natural disaster
The following do not qualify as exceptional circumstances:
- Scheduling conflicts
- Clinic or staffing issues
- Change of plans
- Failure to obtain travel documents
- Other routine professional or personal obligations
